Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Part-time Patient Safety Attendant to provide continuous observation and ensure a safe environment for assigned patients at our Durant, OK location.

The role supports RN-directed care, upholds infection control practices, and protects patient privacy while remaining present with patients during shifts. The ideal candidate has 0-1 years of experience as a patient sitter, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm in high-stress

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience as a patient sitter or similar role in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor assigned patients to ensure safety and comply with hospital policies.
• Maintain continuous visual observation and stay with the patient unless relieved by appropriate personnel.
• Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and privacy standards.
• Follow infection control precautions, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
• Ensure a clean, safe patient environment and manage bio-hazardous waste according to policy.
• Respect patient privacy and dignity in all interactions and care activities.
• Assist with non-clinical tasks to reduce anxiety, including repositioning and reassuring patients.
• Report safety hazards or changes in patient condition to the RN or designated personnel immediately.
• Follow facility safety policies and service excellence standards.
• Complete delegated duties accurately and promptly as directed by the RN.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
