Job summary

Compass Group USA, through TouchPoint Support Services, is seeking a Patient Observation Assistant at Henry Ford Providence Novi, MI. The role provides visual and audible observation of patients under the direction of an RN and unit manager, with full- and part-time schedules and rotating weekends.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, and CPR/BLS certification within 30 days if required. Prior observation experience is preferred; lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient’s condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside of the patient unless relieved by a staff member.
• Assists in calming and reorienting patients as needed.
• Escalates concerns to nursing staff when medical distress or unsafe behavior is observed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
