Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct, age-appropriate care under RN supervision. You will monitor patients, collect data, assist with ADLs and mobility, and ensure safe, clean care environments.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA or similar licensure, and BLS/HCP certification. Eligibility for clinical rotations and ongoing training is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient data collection and documentation (vital signs, intake/output, condition changes).
• Hygiene care and activities of daily living support.
• Ability to assist with feeding, hydration, and mobility; use PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care per plan of care.
• Monitor patient status and report changes to RN or licensed practitioner.
• Record admissions data, vitals, and other information per policy; collect specimens as needed.
• Participate in in-services and training; uphold infection control policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, stocked unit and supportive patient environment.
