Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses by providing basic care, monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily activities. You will sanitize rooms, assist with feeding and grooming, and help maintain a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

As part of the team, you will document care in EPIC EHR, coordinate with staff, and participate in hand-offs. Prior nursing aide training and BLS are preferred; inpatient or home health experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of nursing aide training or STNA/CNA/Nurse Aide credential.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification preferred prior to direct patient care.
• Recent experience in acute care, home health, hospice, or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care, including comfort, vital signs, hygiene and mobility.
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse; report changes promptly.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Assist with hand-offs and transfers; promote patient safety.
