Job summary

Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, PA is seeking a part-time nursing assistant to support daily unit activities and patient care. You will assist nursing staff with transport, hygiene, rounds, and routine tasks, ensuring timely communication and safety.

You will perform clerical duties, maintain records, and help coordinate admissions and patient testing, using the Meditech system. Strong interpersonal skills and basic medical terminology are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent within one year from date of hire.
• EMT, Certified Nursing or Medical Assistant preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in data entry or typing preferred.
• Previous clerical experience preferred.
• Through education, experience, and/or training, the individual is qualified to work with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Fluent knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nursing staff with daily routine and functions on the unit.
• Conduct hourly rounds on assigned patients and report observations.
• Perform clerical duties related to patient care coordination.
• Manage bed status board, rentals, work orders, and physician consults.
• Utilize Meditech electronic health record.
• Assist in admission process and collect patient information.
• Focus on patient safety and fall/ restraint reduction.
• Maintain supplies and inventory in nursing units.
