Job summary

Tennova Healthcare- LaFollette Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist RN/LPN staff and deliver patient-centered care in a high-quality, safe environment. You will support activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and help with mobility and comfort while ensuring clear communication within the care team.

Qualifications include 0-2 years in acute care or current nursing program enrollment, and BCLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with delegated basic patient care in a clean, safe environment.
• Collects and records vital signs and other patient data for RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assists with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Positions patients and helps with ambulation using mobility aids.
• Collects urine/stool samples and performs finger-stick blood glucose tests.
• Communicates patient information clearly to the care team.
• Maintains infection control and PPE safety in daily operations.
• Participates in performance improvement and risk management activities.
• May be required to maintain continuous visual observation of the patient.
• Maintains regular attendance and adheres to policies.
