Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Part-Time Day Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside nursing care. The PCA assists with meals, hygiene, and daily activities, while monitoring patients and reporting changes to the RN.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through AHA is required.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care.
• Ability to follow procedures and safety standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals, drinks, and assistance with meal ordering.
• Encourage ambulation and help with activities of daily living.
• Assist with baths, linens, and gown changes.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN.
• Maintain patient safety, using gait belts and alarms as needed.
• Remain within arm's reach to ensure patient safety and respond to needs.
