Job summary

Tennova Healthcare- North Knoxville Medical Center seeks a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain a clean environment, and help ensure accurate communication within the health care team.

The role includes vital signs collection, patient assistance, mobility support, and basic sample collection under RN/LPN guidance.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire is required.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated basic patient care and maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Record vital signs and patient data and report to RN/LPN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Support patient positioning and mobility with walkers, crutches, canes, or wheelchairs.
• Collect urine/stool samples and monitor glucose via finger sticks as directed.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team and adhere to safety protocols.
