Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and maintain a safe, organized care environment.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in acute care or are enrolled in a nursing program. BCLS certification within 90 days is required; CNA or CPCT credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff in delivering care, and ensures a clean, safe, and well-organized environment.
• Collects and records patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, oxygen saturation, intake/output, and calorie counts.
• Assists patients with meals, feeding, bathing, oral care, grooming, linen changes, skin care, elimination assistance, and urinary catheter care.
• Assists with patient positioning, repositioning, dangling, ambulating, and using mobility aids.
• Collects urine and stool samples and performs blood glucose monitoring, documenting results to the RN/LPN/LVN.
• Communicates patient information to the care team and maintains professionalism.
• Maintains infection control and PPE protocols for patient and staff safety.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and risk management reporting.
• May maintain continuous observation of the patient as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
