Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA program completed and IL CNA Registry listed or nursing student with one clinical rotation and verification.
• BLS through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical/patient care functions under the direction of the RN or physician.
• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs.
• Discontinues Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters.
• Discontinues Telemetry Monitoring packs.
• Performs Bladder Scan.
• Performs Point of Care Testing as appropriate.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene and nutritional needs per plan of care.
• Performs hourly patient rounding in collaboration with the RN.
• Obtains and documents patient care data per RN and plan of care.
• Assists with patient ambulation and positioning as directed in the plan of care.
• Assists health care team in meeting patient needs.
• Responds to patient call lights promptly.
• Maintains a safe clinical care environment for patient, family and staff.
