Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support nurses and physicians in delivering compassionate, high‑quality care across our system. In this role you will perform a variety of clinical tasks under supervision, aiming to keep patients safe, comfortable and informed.

You will collect specimens, perform 12‑lead EKGs, assist with hygiene and mobility, monitor patients, and support post‑mortem care as needed, while participating in ongoing training and performance improvement

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listed on the Illinois CNA Registry, OR nursing student who has completed one clinical rotation.
• BLS through American Heart Association.

Responsabilidades

• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs.
• Discontinues Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters.
• Discontinues Telemetry Monitoring packs.
• Performs Bladder Scan.
• Performs Point of Care Testing as appropriate.
• Assists patients with hygiene and nutrition per the care plan.
• Performs hourly patient rounding in collaboration with the RN.
• Obtains and documents patient care data as directed by the RN.
• Assists with patient ambulation and positioning.
• Supports the health care team to meet patient needs.
• Responds to patient call lights promptly and professionally.
• Maintains a safe clinical environment.
• Participates in required training and performance improvement activities.
