Job summary

PVH Potomac Valley Hospital is seeking an attentive Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed nurses. You will work to ensure high-quality patient care in coordination with medical staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• State CNA certification: MD, OH, PA or WV.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to the Nursing Staff immediately.
• Assists Nursing Staff with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and supports personal hygiene and patient comfort; tracks intake and outputs.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient care activities.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per procedures.
• Communicates nutrition issues to Nursing Staff.
• Assists department with administrative tasks and answers call bells.
