Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks a Staff Support Assistant at our Highland Park facility, with flexibility to float to Evanston, Glenbrook, and Skokie locations. This full-time position runs Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:50 p.m., supporting patient care and safety under RN supervision.

You will respond to patient needs, assist with transfers, meals, and basic hygiene, and help maintain a clean, safe environment. We offer competitive hourly pay, performance-based incentives, and a benefits-ready workplace

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient call lights promptly and courteously.
• Performs hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and needs/requests as directed by RN.
• Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN.
• Assists with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals.
• Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes linens, and removes unnecessary equipment and linen.
• Assists with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care.
• Transports patients to other departments or upon discharge as directed by the RN.
• Stays with patients as directed by the RN for safety.
• Handles infectious waste and follows infection control standards.
• Cleans and disinfects unit-specific equipment.
• Acts as a runner to obtain needed items for patient care.
