Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Staff Support Assistant in Highland Park with occasional duties at Evanston, Glenbrook and Skokie hospitals. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:50 PM, with flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities include responding to patient needs, assisting RN-directed rounds, position and transport patients, assist with meals, hygiene, and ensuring room cleanliness and safety. Comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient needs by answering call lights promptly.
• Hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and needs/requests.
• Assist with positioning, lifting, transfers, and ambulation as directed by the RN.
• Assist with setting up meals and ordering meals for patients.
• Keep patient rooms tidy; refresh linen and remove unnecessary equipment.
• Assist with simple hygiene/comfort tasks (wash hands/face, oral care).
• Transport patients to other departments or during discharge as directed by the RN.
• Remain with patients for safety as directed by the RN.
• Handle infectious waste and linen per hospital procedure.
• Adhere to infection control and hand hygiene standards.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Location: Highland Park with the ability to float to Evanston, Glenbrook and Skokie hospitals

Full Time

Hours: As needed 9a - 5:50p M-F

What you will do:

• Responds to the immediate needs of the patient by answering patient call lights promptly and courteously.


• As directed, by RN, makes hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and meeting patients' needs/requests


• Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN


• Assist with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals


• Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes patient's linen as need, removes unnecessary equipment and linen


• Assists patient with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care


• As directed by the RN, transports patient to other departments or when patient being discharge


• When directed by the RN, remains with the patient continuously for patient safety.


• Handles infectious waste and linen according to established hospital procedure


• Adheres to proper infection control standards and hand washing techniques to avoid cross contamination


• Cleans and disinfects unit specific equipment


• \"Runner\" to other departments, when needed to obtain necessary items for patient care
