Lifepoint Health is seeking a Patient Sitter to provide direct patient observation and input in planning care through communication with the RN and care team. The role emphasizes maintaining safety and a calm, professional demeanor for patients requiring close supervision due to behavioral health concerns, under direct RN supervision.

The position requires staying with patients, supporting test procedures, and assisting with daily activities while preserving dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Clear communication, listing and observation skills.
• Ability to respond swiftly and physically capable of sitting, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Calm, confident manner under high-stress situations.
• Must maintain composure with distressed or combative patients.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Observe the patient continuously to ensure safety and report concerns to RN.
• Remain within arm's reach of the patient; cannot adjust restraints.
• Assist with tests, procedures, and holding areas as needed; accompany patients.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, fluids, and personal care as directed by nursing staff.
• Read to patients, engage in conversation, and provide comfort while preserving dignity.
