Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking a compassionate CNA to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision. You will observe patients, document changes, assist with activities of daily living, and maintain a safe, clean environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, Maryland CNA certification, and CPR. Prior CNA experience is preferred to support our busy unit and ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; current Maryland Board of Nursing CNA certification.
• 6 months CNA experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write English to provide basic patient care and to understand and communicate instructions.
• CPR Certification (Heart Saver) and Maryland CNA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Observes the patient in the room and reports to nurse or care provider.
• Performs duties within the scope of the position to support the unit.
• Documents patient changes within scope of position.
• Maintains a safe environment by removing dangerous items and assessing the environment.
• Notifies care providers when patient condition changes or needs care using the call system.
• Notifies care providers when leaving patient unattended.
• Uses proper infection control techniques to avoid contamination.
• Contributes to nursing care plans through oral and written reports.
• Performs and records delegated nursing procedures on sitter sheets.
• Assists patients with feeding, ADLs, bathing, toilet, etc.
