Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN guidance. The role is in the Surgical department with a 12‑hour night shift (1830-0700) and PRN status.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, possible PCA/CNA experience, and BLS certification. Mercy emphasizes a collaborative team approach and ongoing training to meet state requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred for PRN, otherwise training provided within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred experience: PCA, CNA, or active nursing student.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; eligible for Mercy's UAP training program.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months.
