Job summary

Mount Sinai is seeking a Patient Care Associate to join the inpatient care team. The role supports the registered nurse in daily patient care activities, including assisting with activities of daily living, specimen collection, vital signs, and basic procedures.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of PCA/CNA experience preferred. BLS certification and basic computer skills are required to ensure smooth teamwork and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years current PCA/CNA experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy, Finger stick and EKG skills desirable.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of a patient-focused multidisciplinary care team providing a full range of services to patients in assigned areas.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and admission/orientation to the unit.
• Collect specimens and perform procedures; take vital signs.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment; assist with nursing care plans and treatment plans.
• Assist with ambulation and participate in house-wide ambulation and shower program.
