McLaren Health Care is seeking a Unit Assistant on a casual basis for the Same Day Surgery department. Under supervision of a nurse, you will support daily patient care activities, maintain a safe, clean environment, and assist with clerical tasks to ensure efficient unit operations.

The role requires a high school diploma and health unit coordinator or related coursework, with additional nursing assistant or EMT options possible. Prior healthcare clerical experience is beneficial.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health unit coordinator course or medical terminology and data entry coursework.
• Specialized education options include acute care nursing assistant, long-term care nursing assistant, EMT, medical assistant, or clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program.
• Six months of clerical healthcare experience is preferred if above education not met.

Responsabilidades

• Performs delegated patient care interventions under RN supervision.
• Provides compassionate support to patients and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Ensures HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Provides general clerical support (answering phones, data entry, distributing information).
• Transcribes physician orders and notifies appropriate staff of orders.
