Job summary

Minimum RI Nursing Assistant license, BLS, and high school diploma preferred; prior experience is appreciated. The role is 36 hours weekly, day shift, with every other weekend and holiday rotation at Newport Hospital.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
• High school graduate or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills.
• Certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs personal care and basic nursing assistant tasks.
• Performs rehabilitation activities and daily living tasks.
• Maintains a safe environment and reports unsafe conditions or equipment in need of repair.
• Communicates patient observations to the Registered Nurse.
• Document data accurately in the EHR and participate in emergency/code situations.
