Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Assistant to support daily patient care in a fast paced hospital unit. You will document vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, clean patient environment.

Responsibilities include accurate data collection, timely communication with nursing staff, and responding to patient and family needs. A high school diploma and CNA certification are preferred, with CPR/BCLS within 3 months of hire required or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Nurse Assistant certification is preferred.
• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) within 3 months of hire and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document height, weight, intake/output, vital signs, and report any abnormal findings.
• Deliver blood products per policy; collect and deliver specimens as directed.
• Complete purposeful hourly rounding and assist with answering call lights.
• Respond to patient, family and staff needs; assist in emergency situations as directed.
• Provide 1:1 staffing care when requested and maintain patient safety and comfort.
