Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative at RWJUH Hamilton Hospital. This hourly, day-shift role supports the Patient Access Services department by accurately registering patients and collecting demographic and insurance information.

You will verify insurance, obtain needed documentation, handle payments, and deliver compassionate service as the first point of contact for patients and families, even in stressful situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical insurance verification and authorization experience preferred.
• Patient Access experience preferred.
• Knowledge of all aspects of registration, Non-federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care preferred.
• Medical terminology and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and collect pertinent demographic information.
• Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Collect applicable payments and ensure a seamless registration experience.
• Collaborate with nursing and ancillary departments to support patient flow.
• Participate in training and development of staff.
