Opportunity Place Program, a program of Resources for Human Development (RHD), in Philadelphia, is seeking a dependable Cook to join our team. You will prepare nutritious meals, keep a safe, organized kitchen, and support the health and well-being of individuals receiving services.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and pre-employment screenings.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use workplace software applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Plan menus and establish supply lists to support meal preparation.
• Prepare nutritious meals for approximately 18 adult men in a long-term residential setting.
• Ensure recipes and food portions meet program standards and nutritional requirements.
• Maintain accurate food production, inventory, and temperature records.
• Order, receive, and inventory food and kitchen supplies as assigned.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Maintain compliance with state and local health and safety regulations.
• Keep kitchen and food storage areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
• Train and direct assigned kitchen workers or participants as needed.
• Support positive relationships with program participants and staff.
• Utilize appropriate crisis intervention techniques when necessary.
