Job summary

Knoxville Orthopaedic Surgery Center is seeking a compassionate PACU RN to join our surgical care team. This role provides nursing care to patients in the immediate postoperative and post-anesthesia recovery period, helping ensure safe, attentive, and individualized care after surgery.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and remains calm in a fast-paced environment. Tennessee RN license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Strong nursing assessment skills and clinical judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with patients, families, and team.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, individualized nursing care during the immediate postoperative and recovery period.
• Assess and document patient status upon arrival in the recovery room.
• Continuously monitor and document post-anesthesia recovery; communicate changes to care team.
• Prepare patients and families for discharge and safe home transition.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and warning signs.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and ready recovery environment.
• Participate in continuing education and performance-improvement initiatives.
