Job summary

Orthopaedic Surgery Centers of San Antonio is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. You will care for patients recovering from anesthesia, monitor vitals, administer medications, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient recovery.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, demonstrates strong assessment and communication skills, and has BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience in PACU, critical care, or similar nursing environment is preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Requires regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and condition post-anesthesia.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Assess recovery progress and respond to complications or emergencies.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding post-operative care.
• Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment.
