Job summary

Caring Acres Nursing & Rehab in Iowa is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team under OT supervision. You will help residents develop and maintain daily living skills to regain independence and improve quality of life.

Work will involve implementing therapy plans, supporting ADLs, and collaborating with nurses and therapists to deliver patient-centered care in a geriatric setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state licensure/certification as a COTA.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist residents with mobility, strengthening, coordination, and adaptive techniques.
• Monitor resident progress and document treatment outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards.
• Ensure a safe and supportive therapy environment for all residents.
