Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a patient care aide within the Medical Oncology department. Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, you perform day-to-day patient care activities and help maintain an environment conducive to patient well-being, showing sensitivity to developmental, age-specific and cultural preferences.

This full-time role operates days, 7 am to 7:30 pm, with a bi-weekly schedule of 72 hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.
