Job summary

Mercy Community Healthcare in Lewisburg, TN is seeking an OB Ultrasound Technician to perform prenatal, obstetric, and gynecologic ultrasound examinations. You will obtain high-quality diagnostic images and document measurements for physician interpretation, supporting care for pregnant patients.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited sonography program, possess ARDMS certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
• ARDMS certification; RDMS/OB-GYN preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Clinical experience in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fetal and maternal anatomy, ultrasound physics, and OB/GYN imaging protocols.
• Excellent communication, organization, and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Obtain fetal, maternal, and pelvic images and measurements for physician interpretation.
• Perform transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound examinations when indicated and within scope of practice.
• Accurately document examinations and patient information in the EMR and imaging systems; maintain equipment.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide compassionate support throughout the examination.
• Follow infection-control, safety, HIPAA, and department policies; work with OB/GYN care team.
