Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for the Upstate OB/GYN - Verdae location. The role performs ultrasound procedures and related techniques, generating diagnostic images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner, while delivering compassionate direct patient care.

Under Radiology leadership, the technologist will use various ultrasound modalities, maintain clinical competency across ages, participate in performance improvement, and assist with student education

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ultrasonography program and ARDMS/ARRT registry eligible (required)
• ARDMS/ARRT registration or pending (required)
• Advanced modality registration in Ultrasound preferred or must obtain within 2 years
• 1 year ultrasound experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures and related techniques
• Produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioner
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent when applicable
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety during procedures
• Document imaging impressions and relay findings to physician
• Obtain and record images to demonstrate normal and pathologic findings
• Contribute to performance improvement projects
• Support education and orientation of students and staff
• Adhere to Joint Commission standards for probe disinfection
• Utilize multiple ultrasound modalities and understand cross-sectional anatomy
