Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain, OH seeks a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound procedures and produce diagnostic images under Radiology leadership. Must be ARDMS/ARRT eligible or certified, with ultrasound modality proficiency and direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ultrasonography program and ARDMS/ARRT registry eligible or certified.
• Knowledge of direct patient care, safety and documentation practices.
• Experience or training in ultrasound modalities and patient-facing exams.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures and produce images for licensed interpretation.
• Explain procedures to patients and prepare them by obtaining history and consent.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety during procedures; monitor equipment.
• Document sonographer impressions and relay findings to physicians.
• Obtain and record images to demonstrate normal and pathological findings.
• Participate in performance improvement projects and staff education.
