Job summary

Mission Point Health Care is seeking a Food and Nutrition Aide to provide meals and snacks to residents, guests, and staff. You will assist with all dietary functions, prepare standard meals, and ensure sanitary conditions in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities include tray assembly, delivery to resident areas, sanitation, and adherence to dietary guidelines. Prior experience in food service is desirable; strong hygiene and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Some prior experience in food service or as a waitress is desirable.
• Able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions including basic calculations.
• Basic knowledge of attractive food service, sanitation, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve salads and desserts using standardized recipes.
• Set up trays quickly and neatly according to the posted menu.
• Assemble foods, condiments, and utensils on trays for residents.
• Follow directions for modified diets and adhere to portion controls.
• Deliver trays to resident areas and assist with distribution.
• Return carts and wash soiled dishware after meals.
• Prepare snacks or nourishments as specified and deliver on time.
• Maintain hygiene and wear hairnet in food service areas.
• Clean work areas and equipment (countertops, steam table, refrigerators).
• Identify sanitation hazards and report to the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
• Transport garbage to outdoor receptacle as needed.
• Follow Standard Precautions and Infection Control policies.
• Adhere to dietary cleaning schedules and maintain professional conduct.
• Interact courteously with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Respect patient rights and HIPAA confidentiality.
• Store food items and supplies properly.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings.
