Job summary

Independent Living Services, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Nutrition Coordinator to support meal preparation for individuals in the day habilitation program. You will assist in cooking, food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen.

Under the Nutrition Program Coordinator, you will follow posted menus, operate kitchen equipment, help with inventories, and participate in mandatory trainings. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and compassionate service to participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience cooking for large groups (2+ years).
• Must have smartphone/tablet with internet access and location capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of daily meals and snacks according to posted menu.
• Assists with food preparation, service, storage and facility cleaning.
• Operates food preparation equipment such as blender, mixer, oven, stove, deep fryer, slicer and food grater.
• Maintains sanitary environment within the food preparation area.
• May be required to drive agency vehicle to pick up supplies or transport meals.
• Attends mandatory trainings and assists with inventory and storage areas.
• Assists with training of consumers who will be working in the cafeteria.
