Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Nursing Technician to assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care on a non-acute inpatient unit. Under RN supervision, you will help plan, organize, implement and evaluate nursing unit activities while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED or CNA certification; Nursing Assistant certification and MOAB or BLS/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; or CNA certification; or equivalent related work experience.
• Nursing Assistant Certification preferred; LTAC or med/surg experience or nursing rotation preferred.
• MOAB training preferred; BLS-AHA and First Aid preferred or within 30 days.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to work cooperatively with others; familiarity with medical terminology.
• Population-specific care competencies and med/surg nursing floor environment familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care for non-acutely ill patients.
• Support planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating activities in the nursing unit.
• Observe and follow nursing care plans and departmental policies; maintain safe and clean environment.
• Record and communicate effectively with RN and health care team; assist with computer tasks as needed.
• Assist with patient population needs across adolescent to geriatric groups; physical support and safety.
