Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Skills: Basic ability to read, write and perform basic four-function math.
• Interpersonal: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs and report unusual observations.
• Collect specimens and monitor intake and output.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision.
• Assist with nutrition, room service, and feeding as needed.
• Support safety, infection control, and patient comfort.
• Assist as patient safety attendant after competency.
• Assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistant colleagues.
• Perform other unit-based tasks as assigned.
