Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, VT is seeking a Nursing Assistant under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide for patients' personal care, comfort and safety.

You will perform essential duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, helping with meals, and maintaining infection control and patient safety, with opportunities to orient new staff and participate in quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; 30 days to obtain post‑hire.
• Skills: reading, writing and basic math; familiarity with medical terminology and computers.
• Experience: none required.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes ADLs.
• Take and record vital signs and report unusual observations to the nurse.
• Collect specimens and monitor intake/output.
• Assist with meals, tray setup, and patient feeding as needed.
• Perform basic clinical procedures under supervision and maintain safety.
• Adhere to infection control policies and participate in safety interventions.
• Assist with orientation of new Nursing Assistant colleagues.
• Perform other unit‑based duties as assigned.
