Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage is seeking a bedside Nursing Assistant under direct supervision to support the RN, maintain a safe and clean environment, and communicate clearly with patients and families. The role requires Medical Terminology coursework, hospital terminology testing, BLS certification, and at least six months of experience with mental health or substance use disorders.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Terminology course or equivalent.
• Successful completion of hospital Medical Terminology test within 90 days of hire.
• National Provider BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Six months working with individuals who have mental health and/or substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assist bedside RN to maintain a safe, hazard-free, clean environment for patients, families and providers.
• Facilitate effective communication between patient and RN and complete delegated duties during the shift.
