Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Nursing Assistant I/II for 12S Medicine on a full-time night shift. Under RN supervision, you will provide compassionate patient care, document care, take vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and support a safe, clean clinical environment.

Qualified candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills; one year of prior patient-care experience; NYS CNA license preferred; resume required.

Qualifications

• One year of satisfactory full-time experience in patient care under professional supervision.
• Preferred NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or CNA program certification.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Change dressings and apply basic treatments as directed.
• Take temperatures, pulse, blood pressure and respiration rate.
• Attend to daily living activities and personal needs for patients.
• Feed, bathe, dress patients and maintain dignity and confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and properly supplied clinical facility.
