Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Nursing Assistant I/II to support patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include basic bedside procedures, vital signs, and daily living activities while ensuring dignity and confidentiality.

Preferred candidates have NYS CNA certification or CNA training, along with one year of patient care experience and a high school diploma or GED. This is a full-time position in a hospital setting with standard shifts.

Qualifications

• Possession of or ability to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities during the probationary period.
• One year of satisfactory full-time experience in simple patient care under professional supervision.
• Preferred: NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or CNA training program certification, one year of patient care experience, and a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Change simple dressings and assist with basic bedside care as directed.
• Take vital signs (temperature, pulse, BP, respiration) and document care.
• Attend to daily living activities and assist with nourishment and personal care.
• Maintain patient rights, dignity, and confidentiality.
• May perform light housekeeping duties related to direct patient care.
