Job summary

Kindred Hospital Dallas Central and Acute Rehabilitation Unit seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in providing patient care in assigned areas within a LTACH and ARU. You will assist with activities of daily living, personal care, and basic clinical tasks under RN supervision.

The role requires English fluency, good attendance, and solid communication skills. Minimum six months’ experience in acute or long-term care is preferred; BLS and Nursing Assistant Certification

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Regular attendance is essential.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities, and work under stress.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Provide general nursing care and assist with positioning, movement, and routine tasks.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and other measurements accurately and document promptly.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring cleanliness and comfort.
• Answer patient call lights, telephone, and paging system promptly and respond appropriately.
• Assist RN/LPN with routine/advanced procedures and treatments as directed.
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Maintain professional and collaborative relationships within the department and with other teams.
