Job summary

Kindred Hospital Dallas Central and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in providing patient care in a LTACH/ARU setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, help with admissions and transfers, and ensure a clean, comfortable environment, under RN supervision.

A High School Diploma, CNA and BLS are required, with at least six months in acute or long-term care; fluent English and solid communication skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification
• BLS Certification
• Minimum six months' experience in acute or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Takes and records vital signs and other measurements; documents timely.
• Assists with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Serves and removes patient meal trays; assists with feeding.
• Answers patient call lights and responds to requests as appropriate.
• Under RN direction, performs routine treatment procedures.
• Maintains a clean and comfortable patient environment.
