Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff with patient care tasks, vital signs, and daily activities. This role involves helping with patient hygiene, documentation, and coordinating basic unit activities.

You will assist with stocking supplies, operating hospital equipment as directed, and perform routine clerical duties while maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or enrolled in accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA).

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies and operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with other related duties as assigned.
