Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work on-site at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY. You will support nurses with direct patient care, assist with ADLs, and help maintain a safe, clean bedside area. The role includes hourly rounding and mandatory orientation prior to starting on the unit.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may provide BLS training if needed. Shift is 12 hours, twice per month, with a pay range of $19.47–$25.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent experience is required.
• BLS certification—if needed, will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output, recording weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting changes to the RN.
• Reinforcing patient education (e.g., incentive spirometer, fall prevention).
• Maintain a clean, organized bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Hour‑by‑hour rounding on each patient to monitor needs.
• Orientation training: one full week Monday–Friday 8a‑4p before starting on unit.
