Job summary

Birchaven is seeking a Care Aide to support licensed staff by providing direct care and personal assistance to residents in the assisted living areas, under the supervision of a Nurse, and in accordance with applicable standards and Birchaven policies.

The position involves direct resident care, room preparation, restocking supplies, and cooperation with nursing staff to address resident needs and safety, while upholding resident rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Meet the minimum required age of 16 years old.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to provide care appropriate to needs of residents served.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of aging and related needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents under supervision of a nurse.
• Assist in resident care and room preparation as directed by nursing staff.
• Order and restock resident care supplies to meet daily needs.
• Display service excellence by following Birchaven mission and policies.
• Comply with organizational policies, confidentiality and regulatory practices.
• Assist in other tasks as directed by Nurse, DON, or ADON.
