Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses in delivering compassionate patient care at Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC. The position covers night shifts and involves assisting with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and vital signs under RN supervision.

Candidates should have completed a Nursing Assistant training program; CNA/CMA certifications may be considered.

Qualifications

Education - Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience - Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant or related experience preferred. One year hospital clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal hygiene (bathing, hair care, brushing teeth, etc.).
Assist with nutrition and feeding; set up meal trays and assist with feeding.
Assist with ambulation and fall prevention under nurse direction.
Assist with elimination and monitor inputs/outputs; help patients reach bathroom or use bedside aids.
Document vital signs and report abnormal values to the RN.
Perform other duties as assigned.
