Job summary

Crown Shields Transport, LLC in Texas seeks a Transportation Specialist to provide safe, compassionate Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. You will greet patients, assist them in and out of vans, secure wheelchairs, and ensure safety while transporting.

Responsibilities include managing on-demand and scheduled appointments, using GPS, maintaining the vehicle, and communicating with Dispatch. Must have wheelchair securement, CPR/First Aid, defensive driving training, and a valid Texas driver's

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on/professional experience in providing NEMT services.
• Active Wheelchair Securement, CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving certifications.
• Knowledge of Dallas Metroplex area.
• Applicant must be 25 years of age or older.
• Safe driving skills.
• Ability to pass drug and background tests, plus random testing thereafter.
• Ability to use GPS, Bluetooth, and smartphone apps; must have a smartphone.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean criminal background.
• Good driving record with no major violations in 3 years.
• Ability to think quickly, adapt to schedule changes, and multitask.
• Excellent customer service, compassion, dependability, and timeliness.
• Exceptional communication skills and knowledge of patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide conscientious and friendly customer service, greeting patients at the start and end of appointments.
• Safely assisting patients in and out of vans and securing wheelchairs using proper techniques.
• Abide by traffic laws and ensure safety at all times.
• Communicate with passengers to provide an excellent experience.
• Manage both on-demand and scheduled calendars; be prompt to all appointments.
• Recognize medical situations needing higher intervention and inform appropriate personnel.
• Maintain communication with Dispatch/management regarding schedules and delays.
• Coordinate with facility personnel to ensure a great patient experience.
• Present a professional image in appearance and actions.
• Daily vehicle maintenance and safe work environment; manage equipment like vehicle, phone, GPS, and uniform.
• Use GPS to locate pickup/drop-off locations and comply with HIPAA policies.
