Job summary

Millwood Hospital is a UHS facility in Arlington, TX, seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Kids Unit. You will help ensure patient safety, provide continuous patient care, supervise and role-model interactions under RN guidance.

Requirements include a High School degree, CNA preferred, CPI training, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license; two years of related experience preferred. Shifts: 7a–3p; orientations Week 1–2; benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent is required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
• Two (2) years of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training before on the unit orientation.
• CPR certification prior to taking an independent patient assignment.

Responsibilities

• The Mental Health Technician ensures patient safety and provides continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients on the Kids Unit.
• Functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Participates in orientation and hospital procedures.
