Arbour Hospital in Jamaica Plain (Boston area) is hiring a Part-time Mental Health Associate for 24 hours a week. The role involves maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and providing routine behavioral health care, with weekend rotation and shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree or active studies in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• College students pursuing degrees in behavioral health, psychology, or human services are preferred.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills and professional judgment are required.
• Ability to maintain composure in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Provide routine patient care in a psychiatric setting.
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors.
• Assist with patient groups and activities.
• Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet individual needs.
• Provide trauma-informed and age-specific care.
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques.
