Job summary

Senior Lifestyle Corporation's Gorham House memory care unit is seeking a Care Associate/PSS for the DAY SHIFT (6:30AM–3PM), full-time, 40 hours weekly. You will provide companionship and support to residents, assist with activities of daily living, and help lead activities within a compassionate team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with seniors with dementia including participation in activities is preferred.
• Proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisor and other employees, and respond to emergencies is required.
• A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Word are required.

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle situations with limited standardization.
• Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide kind, caring, and consistent companionship and support to residents.
• Assist Memory Care residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility) to promote independence.
• Participate in and lead one-on-one and group activities.
• Serve residents during mealtime; assist with memory care laundry and basic housekeeping within memory care neighborhood.
• Ensure concerns from residents, families, and employees are addressed promptly with follow-up for high customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and co-workers.
