Job summary

Bettendorf Health Care Center is seeking a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to provide safe, accurate medication administration and compassionate resident care. You will work under a licensed nurse, adhere to state guidelines, and support daily resident needs in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include documenting meds, monitoring vital signs, taking action on changes, and ensuring a calm, safe environment for residents and teamwork with the care staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass a state-issued exam.
• CMT certification in the state of Iowa.
• Six months experience in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and families.
• English proficiency required; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications under physician order and nurse supervision.
• Follow the five rights of medication administration.
• Record all medications given to residents.
• Take and record vital signs as required.
• Respond to resident call lights and rounds with supervision.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and report to licensed staff.
• Maintain safety and quality in resident care.
