Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is seeking a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our team. You will administer medications and provide direct resident care under the Director of Nursing, supporting activities of daily living and maintaining safety and high standards of documentation.

In this role you will observe residents, communicate with physicians and families, and ensure adherence to individualized care plans while promoting independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution to residents according to individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors with timely interventions.
• Document all observations, incidents, interventions, and daily medication assistance throughout the shift.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely documentation by Resident Assistants for quality care.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights (right medication, right route, right resident, right time, right dose).
• Provide glucose monitoring and insulin administration (insulin-certified).
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and nutrition/hydration needs.
• Support fall prevention programs and maintain a restraint-free environment.
• Collaborate with management and families, attend in-service trainings, and mentor staff.
